June installment

I have been absent from my blog because I have been travelling and busy sewing/knitting other things. Once my photos have been downloaded and made smaller, I shall post them.
In the meanwhile, here's my June installment of the Gnome for the Holidays BOM.

Just presents in this block. No Gnomes. I need to think of sashing for this wall quilt. Maybe green, or blue or perhaps a darker gray. I shall be auditioning some fabrics.

The worst real estate agent signs/billboards/ads #1

Yep, it's a long title but here's a couple of billboards.

Real estate agents really love billboards.

They like being "cute."

Construction #4

These are from A.S. in Toronto.

There are a lot of these cranes in and around the city with all the construction that's going on.

Amazing how they always manage to get a huge crane so high up.

Construction #3

It's been a while but here's another group of photos with the theme being Construction.

The photos are of the soon-to-be Goldring Student Centre on the Vic campus at University of Toronto.

Two photos of the actual construction...

and one of what it will look like when completed.

Construction #2

Constructing a Quilt

Take a variety of fabric.

Cut up some equal sized squares and sew them together.

Sew more squares together alternating the colours.

Keep sewing squares of fabric until you have a block size that you like.

Vary the colours of the blocks.

Sew the squares altogether to make a quilt top, sandwich it with batting and backing, quilt it, bind it and you have a whole quilt.

Summer Fun#2

Summer always sees a gathering of people. This time coming together to raise money to feed communities around the city. The event was STOP's Night Market.

A reggae keg party in Cabbagetown. A little bear watching to make sure you don't overdo it.
